AI-powered Fencing Referee System

Kevin combined his passion for fencing with technology to design and develop an AI-powered referee system. By using video recognition and algorithmic analysis, the system can automatically determine scoring outcomes in fencing matches, improving both fairness and efficiency. This innovative project not only demonstrates his creativity in merging sports with technology but also offers a fresh perspective on how traditional refereeing can be transformed. With this achievement, Kevin was successfully admitted to the Engineering program at UT Austin. Throughout the project, Kevin mastered the complete workflow of video data processing, model training, and performance optimization, showcasing his strong practical skills in applying artificial intelligence. By continuously testing and refining the system, he enhanced the accuracy of the algorithm while cultivating a systematic approach to problem-solving. This project highlights his ability to integrate personal interests with technical expertise, laying a solid foundation for future academic and research pursuits.
